Argumentative Essay Sample - How to Create Strong, Convincing Arguments

Argumentative Essay Sample - How to Create Strong, Convincing ArgumentsArgumentative essay samples can help you get a good idea on how to organize and present your arguments in order to build up a strong and compelling thesis. You will find that there are several different types of essay samples, such as PowerPoint and diaries. In a diary form, you will be able to place the argument under a thesis or chapter heading. This can help you organize your notes and make it easier to read. The first step in composing an argument is determining a thesis. Your thesis is what guides the remainder of the argument and can either support or weaken your entire argument. Most times, people use their thesis to establish and justify the argument itself. There are many different ways that an argument can be created. The problem is determining which of these methods is best for the essay. There are three main forms of argument and they are: affirmative arguments, negative arguments, and counterarguments.A n affirmative argument is the creation of a hypothesis about a topic in order to support or refute a thesis. This form of argument is often used to argue for a position without resorting to insults and show-boating. It is easy to formulate and has a logical structure. In this form of argument, the creator of the hypothesis is the subject and the premises are the evidence for the position. For example, you may have been asked to 'argue against Hitler' but instead of referring to him as Hitler and stating your reasons why he should be removed from power, you may state your reasons why we must institute socialism.A negative argument is based on facts that do not support a conclusion. This is often called an out-of-context argument. To establish a negative argument, the argument needs to be based on evidence that does not support the argument. For example, a person may state 'I am tired of him stealing my car' based on proof that he has already stolen one car in the past. The statement 'I am tired of him stealing my car' is a negative argument.A counter argument is a rebuttal to a specific premise or argument. This form of argument is based on facts or viewpoints that may not support the argument. Counter arguments can be made based on a positive or negative premise, but the purpose is usually to show the fact that the argument is flawed. One important thing to remember when writing essay samples is that the arguments you create should connect to your thesis. This means that you should write an argument that addresses a point that you are trying to prove. Once you understand how your argument relates to your thesis, you can begin to write and organize your thesis. Also, remember that the argumentative essay sample is just a guideline.Your thesis can be different for each individual essay. It is okay to have different assumptions for each individual paper. The point is to create a strong and compelling thesis that can stand alone or work with the next paper. The nex t essay on this topic will cover the book 'Hitler did nothing wrong' by David Irving.
